FIF Translator - FIF Log File Page
FIF Translator keeps historical log files that allow you to track the history of translations from FIF files. FIF Translator can search these files to find the latest program that was translated, then allow you to print formatted information about that file. The date and time are included, along with the part name, and the FIF comment field data.
You can quickly print this information, then include it with your other reports (like Supravision inspection reports) to prove the data used was the appropriate master set. Read the following material to learn how to use this tab page. You can click on many of the screen images to see an enlarged view of that image. |
Buttons
The two buttons on this tab page are:
- Select Button - Use this button to select any log file to load into the viewer. The most current log file of translations from FIF files to other file types is always the suggested file in the open file dialog.
- Most Recent Button - Use this button to search the program folder for the most current log file of translations from FIF files to other file types.
- Print Button - This button allows you to print the data in the data view box.
Auto-Delete
The two controls on this tab page are:

Indicators
1. Most Recent Log File
- This shows the name of the most recent log file found.
- The full path of this file is not displayed. The log file path is always in the FIF Translator program folder.

4. "Old Log Files Removed" Indicator
The Data View Box
- This indicator shows the number of log files found during a log file search.
- If any log files are auto-deleted during a search, then this count does not include in the files deleted. (See the next indicator.)

- This indicator shows the total number older log files removed during a search.
The Data View Box
The data view box displays the internal data found in the log file.
The box allows you to select and copy the contents of the data to the Windows clipboard.
Since FIF files can contain multiple parts internally, and FIF Translator can convert them during one translation session, log files will show information about every file (see the image below).
