Blue Origin is doing some pretty cool things in their new Kennedy Space Center facility at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The call it "Blue Origin OLS" - Orbital Landing Systems division.
While I was not allowed take pictures of the inside of the factory, I was allowed to take pictures in the lobby and also outside the building. It was awesome.
The rocket ship you see in the pictures is the "New Shepherd" spacecraft that has been to space several times and back. Compare the images of launch and recovery with the image in the lobby, and you will see just how rough space can be on a craft.
The smaller pod is the unit that sits on top of the larger large ship. That design is meant for humans - so the grey sides are simulations of windows in future versions. They will allow the passengers to view outside the craft.
The more I see of this technology, the more amazed I am. I'm looking forward to a trip into space someday.
